Every member of eContractorBids.com is pre-screened and meets several requirements before being accepted into our network. Our member approval requirements help ensure you’ll be working with the very best local contractors.

This is how we screen our members:

VERIFY TRADE LICENSE
eContractorBids.com verifies that the business carries the appropriate state-level license and is registered with the state.

VERIFY INSURANCE
We contact the member’s insurance agent to confirm general liability insurance and post the insurance certificate online.

VERIFICATION OF STATE BUSINESS RECORDS
For businesses that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing with the state. In addition, we check for bankruptcy filings, state level civil judgments, and liens placed against each member’s business.

CRIMINAL RECORDS SEARCH
We use data sources to conduct a criminal background check for any relevant criminal activity in the state that the owner/principal is located.

SEX OFFENDER SEARCH
We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official sex offender web site of the state in which the owner/principal is located.

IDENTITY VERIFICATION
We verify the identity of the owner/principal. We also do a reverse phone look-up to confirm that the phone number provided matches the phone listing for the business.

VERIFY CUSTOMER REFERENCES
We request and contact previous customer references to solicit feedback on the business’s performance.

With eContractorBids.com, there is less to worry about when it comes to choosing a contractor. All of our members are rated and reviewed by past customers. Additionally, we verify past customer references to ensure that you’re working with only the best professional contractors and service providers in your area.

The rating system publishes ratings and reviews from past customers for each member and must be submitted by legitimate past customers. Consumers use this valuable information when comparing local contractors and deciding who to begin their project with.

The rating system is based on the following five fields and is verified for accuracy.

• Value – what customers received vs. the price they’ve paid for the job.
• Quality of Work – craftsmanship, skill of work, quality of materials used, etc.
• Timeliness – time commitments honored, phone calls returned in a timely manner, job completion, etc.
• Professionalism – level of expertise, helpfulness, respect shown customers, etc.
• Overall Rating – the average overall rating of the above fields.

The Preferred Contractor program at eContractorBids.com provides consumers with additional peace of mind when selecting which contractors to work with, and also works to give reputable contractors and suppliers added recognition for their outstanding customer service. Each Preferred Contractor meets the following requirements.

Qualifications:

• Contractor maintains a customer response time of 48 hours of less
• Contractor places estimate within 24 hours of promised date
• Contractor maintains a rating above 8.5
• Contractor has a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Contractor has no unresolved customer complaints thru eContractorBids.com
• Contractor submits rating for 50% of total annual customers
• Contractor follows membership bylaws and agreement
• Contractor belongs to three of more accreditation, associations, or designations
• Contractor carries $1,000,000 general liability insurance policy and $500,000 workers comp insurance
