Take pictures of where the project is going to be with
different views. Draw a simple sketch so the contractor can have an idea of the layout. Have pictures and/or video of your project ready to upload. The more visuals the better. |
Full building blueprints works best, but a quick sketch will work too. Enter the necessary measurements and dimensions for contractors to give more accurate estimates. |
Specify the different materials you want used for your project and describe your project in as much detail as you can. For instance, will the contractor have to tear out the existing cabinets or will you do that before hand? |
Step 1: Click “Post a Project” and answer the following questions
-Do you want a Bid or Estimate?
Bid: a ballpark price based on the information provided or
Estimate: a detailed and specific price. Plans, pictures, material decisions will be needed.
-Select Basic Job Descriptions
Do you have a residential or commercial project?
Do you have an existing property or new construction project?
Step 2: Choose a category and select your contractors
-Select the category that best describes your project in the contractor directory. If you have a larger remodeling project or just want one price from one general contractor, select remodeling or general contractors.
-Select the individual contractors that you want to bid and respond to your job. You may select them individually or select all to maximize your returned responses.
Step 3: Upload files and pictures and describe the details
-Click the browse button to find pictures of your project on your computer to show the contractor.
ex. Sketches with measurements of you project, pictures of the area with a lot of views
-Describe the details of your project with the presented questions that pop up. Then enter the job site address, contract information, and answer a few basic general questions.
Step 4: Set a Bid Deadline, Review and Submit!
-Set a bid deadline date to receive bids or estimates for your job. The more time you allow the better response you will get and the more accurate bids you will receive.
-Review the details of your project and make any adjustments necessary. When you’re happy submit the project and your done!
